VIISA starts its batch 6 acceleration program with 5 selected startups

Since two months ago, VIISA claimed to receive over 100 applications from various startups and its new filtering method resulted in five selected startups from sectors like traveltech, edtech, and more.

VIISA, the acceleration programme and seed-stage fund managed by FPT Ventures and Dragon Capital, announced that it has selected five startups into the sixth batch of its acceleration program, that will kick-off for the next three months.

At the beginning of the event, Mr. Hieu Vo, Board Member and CFO at VIISA, said: “Batch 6 is special because it marks the third anniversary of VIISA as a company. We started with high expectations in terms of program quality improvement as well as creating more value added for founders. That means the program is getting tougher and more demanding for participants and operators too. Apart from very intuitive selection criteria that all applying startups have to go through, the program has introduced a new development measurement method which helps us to capture the progress of startups that are accepted into VIISA.

Ngày 27/9/2019, Quỹ Tăng tốc Khởi nghiệp Việt Nam (VIISA) đã tổ chức buổi ra mắt 5 startup tiềm năng từ các lĩnh vực khác nhau (TravelTech¹, Edtech², Thương mại điện tử, Fintech³).
Trong 2 tháng mở đơn nhận hồ sơ, VIISA đã nhận được hơn 100 đơn đăng ký cho chương trình Tăng tốc Khởi nghiệp. Tổng số đơn nộp về tham gia chương trình đã tăng hơn 20% so với khóa trước. Ngoài ra, đối với đợt tăng tốc mới nhất này, VIISA đã áp dụng một phương pháp mới trong quá trình chọn lọc startup. Để có thể hiểu sâu nhất về hoạt động kinh doanh của các công ty, VIISA đã dành ít nhất 4 giờ đồng hồ cho mỗi startup, bao gồm ít nhất 2 cuộc phỏng vấn trực tiếp với ban điều hành VIISA.

After 2 months of opening for application, VIISA received over 100 applications for the acceleration program.

The total number of applications has increased by more than 20% compared to previous in-take. Also, for this latest batch of acceleration, VIISA applied a new methodology on the process of filtering and selecting startups.
A minimum of 4 hours was spent for each startup which includes at least 2 face-to-face interviews with VIISA’s management team in order to get as much understanding as possible about their businesses.

Five Vietnamese startups join VIISA Acceleration Program

VIISA announced the five potential startups joining its Acceleration Program Batch 6 on September 28.

It received over 100 applications for the acceleration program during the two-month application period, an increase of more than 20 per cent compared to the previous intake. For this latest batch, VIISA applied a new methodology for filtering out and selecting startups. A minimum of four hours was spent on each startup, including at least two face-to-face interviews with VIISA’s management team, in order to gain as much understanding as possible about their businesses.
